Job Description
Division: Commercial Department: Private Banking - Eastern MA Reports to: VP, Assistant Private Banking Financial Center Officer Status: Non-exempt Grade: 8 Pay Range: $21.55 - $41.65 Location: Boston, MA - One Post Office Square Purpose/Objective: Develops and retains new client relationships. Broaden client's relationships by providing account solutions to clients' needs and requests, through account opening and maintenance activities. Offers a complete array of company products and services in coordination with various business partners. Provides ongoing high level of personalized, convenient, confidential service for clients, serving as clients primary branch/office contact. Provides checking and savings accounts, commercial and consumer loans, mortgages, insurance, merchant services, cash management and other products and services in conjunction with business partners. Proficiently performs client service/teller function processing transactions with accuracy and balance according to the Bank's standards, procedures, and policies. Key Accountabilities:
- In partnership with other lines of business develops and retains new private banking business, meets with high income/high net worth prospects and customers and offers a complete array of company products and services in coordination with various other business partners according to established company procedures and applicable legal and regulatory guidelines.
- Gathers prospect and customer financial information. Answers questions and follows up on information requests, and partners with business partners from retail, commercial, consumer, insurance, and other departments as appropriate.
- Coordinates with related business partners to review clients and prospect situations and decide on proper products and services to offer. Coordinates commercial, consumer and other loan requests through established processes. Evaluates entire client financial situation and recommends and negotiates for policy exceptions on behalf of clients, if applicable.
- Provides a high level of ongoing personalized, convenient, confidential customer service; coordinates account openings, loan documentation processing and ongoing account transactions to ensure quality service and minimize any work for customers.
- Takes customer service calls personally from clients, research problems and resolves issues, such as ordering checks, processing wire transfers and correcting bank errors; makes policy exceptions within authorized authority or with management or other approval, as necessary.
- Ability to work with and support all business partners across all lines of business in delivering exceptional service. Consistently strives to satisfy clients and business partners needs by providing an exceptional client experiences and champions digital banking.
- Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.
- Contributes to a positive, ethical, and respectful working environment and communicates openly with others. Models company culture both internally and externally.
- Assists in training and development of newly hired team members.
- Participates in assigned training activities.
- Assists and acts as backup to VP, Assistant Private Banking Financial Center Officer.
- Perform additional duties as requested, needed, or assigned.
- Maintains a comprehensive understanding of all bank products and services which may apply to private banking customers, including processes, procedures and guidelines associated with each; possesses experience and understanding to approach customers with unique financial situations and needs; maintains sales, negotiation and closing skills.
- Ensures compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by one's duties.
Must be eligible to be registered in the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry for purposes of SAFE Act, if applicable Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience:
- Client service experience and/or sales experience preferred.
- Two or more years of teller or cash handling experience with accurate balancing record
- Experience in the Private Banking industry a plus, but not required
Skills & Knowledge:
- High level of personalized customer service skills, including ability to work with wide variety of clients and provide and exceptional level of service.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of computer programs in general.
- Willing to become a Notary Public in MA
