Job Description

Vitro, North America's largest manufacturer of architectural and automotive glass is currently seeking a Process Engineer for their Coater 6 operations at its Wichita Falls, Texas location. This position will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and developing the Coater 6 process control systems.

Duties/Responsibilities:



  • provides engineering support within the Coaters to maximize productivity and yield, from a process control viewpoint
  • remains current on process control trends and developments and evaluates their applicability to our production processes
  • identifies, specifies, installs, troubleshoots, and maintains all process control assets within the Coaters
  • remains current on all process control developments in the industry and within the business, communicates with corporate groups, and interacts with peers at other Vitro locations
  • manages capital projects and improvements from definition to implementation, from bidding projects, to purchasing decisions, installation, maintenance, and document and operation documentation creation
  • maintains and develops the Coater process control systems daily
  • reviews and analyzes Coater process control systems and make corrective actions as necessary
  • trains Coater personnel in process control systems and operation
  • improves the process control systems, stays current with technology and activities of process control engineers at other locations, and manages complex projects


Knowledge/ Skills/ Experience:



  • Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 10-15 years of Controls engineering preferred, but not required
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and statistical analysis
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex process issues
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management skills
