Description

General Description: Arora Engineers, Inc. provides design and construction services for MEP, fire protection and alarms, and low voltage/special systems for aviation, transportation, educational, and health care related buildings and facilities. The Senior Mechanical Engineer shall be engaged in projects involving, but not limited to, the design of facility related HVAC systems, plumbing and drainage systems, building sprinkler and alarm systems, and electro/mechanical motors.

Overall Responsibility: Supports the Office Manager in the achievement of the Company's short and long-term goals for operations, workforce planning, financial performance and growth by establishing, promoting, and assuring high quality on all assigned projects. Supports the management of company processes, the technical quality of work product output, and the oversight of office and project staff. Has lead responsibility for the mechanical engineering work on a project.

Essential Functions:



  1. Functions as Project Manager on assignments with mechanical design scope and other disciplines.
  2. Ensures coordinated design on projects.
  3. Lead design development of mechanical work.
  4. Reviews drawings, technical specifications.
  5. Contributes to estimation of projects, planning and construction feasibility.
  6. Leads/undertakes the development of design drawings.
  7. Provides advisory information during the construction phase.
  8. Performs site surveys and contributes to engineering studies.
  9. Attends and contributes to office, client and project meetings.
  10. Monitors project production and schedules to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  11. Ensures the quality of the work produced maintains high standards.
  12. Performs engineering studies.
  13. Performs technical and coordination check-review of project documentation and drawings.
  14. Follows up on issues with design and production staff to resolve problems and concerns.
  15. Assists with budgeting for the office and projects.
  16. Supports the determination of labor, resources, and financial needs of the office and projects and assists with planning the appropriate resources for each.
  17. Assists Office Manager and other Project Managers in developing fee and scope proposals for projects.
  18. Assist Office Manager in execution of regional business plan including business development and general marketing functions.
  19. Contributes to the evaluation of project staff's work performance.
  20. Conducts internal project meetings on a regular basis, including meeting minutes.


Secondary Functions:



  1. Related duties as assigned.
  2. Supports applicable requests as needed.
  3. Lends support to all business areas outside of mechanical focus as needed.
  4. Duties as assigned by Office Manager or Regional Director.

Qualifications

Needed Skills:



  1. Proficient in project management concepts.
  2. Familiarity with software: AutoCAD and Revit.
  3. Advanced knowledge of codes specific to area of expertise.
  4. Advanced communications and negotiations skills.
  5. Advanced knowledge of Company standards of quality.
  6. Advanced leadership skills.
  7. Ability to multi-task.
  8. Ability to prioritize tasks.
  9. Detail and safety-oriented.
  10. Excellent written and spoken English.
  11. Ability to create and maintain productive relationships with employees, clients, and vendors.
  12. Understanding of underlying principles of A/E industry.


Education/Experience Minimum:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering. P.E. required. Minimum of ten years' experience in a technical capacity reflecting increasing responsibility.



  1. Ability to drive and maintain a safe driving record.
  2. Valid state driver's license (any in US).
  3. In possession of appropriate paperwork to gain and maintain employment in the US.
  4. Ability to meet worksite security requirements.
