Fixed Asset Accountant

Job Description:

Summary

Record and track newly acquired fixed assets, existing fixed assets, monthly depreciation, and treasury related functions. Senior Accountant will be accountable for identifying fixed assets tracking/cycle count of assets and complying with company's fixed asset and treasury policy.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with maintenance team and fleet procurement team to identify and track fixed assets
• Create and maintain asset profiles within ERP System
• Maintain fixed asset inventory listings
• Reconcile the balances in the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger
• Maintain and prepare monthly reconciliations
• Track capital expenditures for company in comparison to capital budget
• Communicate and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles
• Prepare audit schedules and assist with audit inquiries
• Timely and accurately complete fixed asset profile changes and additions to meet monthly close deadlines
• Support meaningful process enhancements and improvements to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the monthly close process
• Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 2 years' work experience in Accounting, Finance, or related functions
• Must be detail oriented
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and presentation skills, able to effectively interact with personnel at all levels of the organization
• Excellent time management skills, able to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
• SAP and Power BI experience preferred but not required
• Proficient working in Microsoft Office 365 applications and able to quickly learn internal software
