Description & Requirements

How you will contribute:

  • Work with a team of Accounting Methods specialist to identify and implement accounting method changes for businesses
  • Prepare Form 3115, Application for Change in Accounting Method, and attachments
  • Prepare workpapers and calculate Sec. 481(a) and current year Schedule M adjustments for client engagements
  • Prepare client deliverables
  • Communicate with clients and coordinate obtaining necessary client information
  • Research and prepare memoranda on tax issues using tax research services, with input from other team members
  • Keep informed of current tax developments and effectively apply tax knowledge/research to client situations
  • Handle multiple tasks to meet internal and external deadlines
  • Support Managers, Directors and Partners in practice development, developing budgets and client proposals
  • Assist in developing new accounting method changes, including templates, memos and distribution systems

We are looking for people who have Forward Vision and:

  • Proficient verbal and written English communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Professional demeanor towards duties and responsibilities, particularly regarding independence, professional ethics, and the exercise of professional judgment required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA or BS in Accounting or related field required, Masters Degree preferred
  • 1-2 years public accounting and/or corporate experience in a tax environment preferred
  • Strong skills in research and writing preferred
  • CPA or CPA candidate required
  • Thorough knowledge of fundamental accounting principals required
  • Previous experience preparing business tax returns and/or income tax provision including computing book/tax adjustments
  • Some knowledge preferred of common accounting methods, such as overall methods of accounting, capitalization and depreciation, revenue recognition, inventory/UNICAP and timing of expense deductions
  • Thorough working knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook required
