Westlake Management Services Inc. in Lakeland, FL seeks a Florida Regional Specification Engineer. Worksite: 3075 Whitten Road, Suite 150, Lakeland, FL 33811. Must put job code (R29305) on resume and on cover.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drives specification engineering activities to completion.
  • Work with the Westlake sales team as a specification engineer with a focus on sales support through product specifications and design.
  • Interface with sales, product development, quality control, manufacturing and technical services to ensure Westlake Pipe and Fittings products are properly positioned in the market.
  • Works closely with consulting engineers, municipal engineering departments and regional governments throughout the Region to ensure the correct design, specification and application of Westlake Pipe and Fittings' product line within the municipal, irrigation and plumbing market sectors.
  • Provide PVC pipe and fittings design and installation guidance to consulting engineers and end user contractors.
  • Promote Westlake Pipe and Fittings products by ensuring that our products are eligible for tender via qualifying our products for use on upcoming large projects and general usage.
  • Target regional markets with the goal of gaining sole specifications for Westlake's proprietary products.
  • Target the regional market with the goal of expanding the use of specialty PVC fittings.
  • Work closely with the Regional Sales Manager, Factory Sales Representatives and Independent Rep Agencies to deliver Regional budgeted goals and a balanced value/volume selling model.
  • Attend and present at technical conferences.
  • Participate in regional industry technical committees.
  • Drive specification selling process to progress towards closing projects.
  • Provide field service support on key jobsite installations.
  • Facilitate jobsite claim information gathering process and present results of failure analysis to customers and end users.
  • Develop and maintain product approval database for all municipalities/regions/towns within the Region.
  • Manage plan that targets top engineering firms and municipalities within the assigned region to educate and present Westlake Pipe and Fittings' value proposition.
  • Deliver technical presentations to these municipalities and engineering firms.
  • Coordinate and co-develop with marketing, PMMD and technical services the necessary presentations and tools to help establish a common sales & marketing message.
  • Manage key opportunities and contacts in SalesForce to improve our ability to "Target>Specify>Track>Close" projects and build long-term annuity relationships with engineering firms and municipalities.
  • Generate new key accounts / top opportunities to influence and grow Westlake Pipe and Fittings specifications, particularly specialty products.
  • Analyze project and firm opportunities through internet and subscription- based lead generation tools.
  • Assist other departments such as technical services and others within the organization to prepare manuals, technical publications and guide specifications.
  • Prepare monthly business conditions report and specification performance to budget reports quarterly.
  • Reports will reflect status, gaps and potential additions to the tools and promotional events.
  • Keep current with market conditions through contact with decision making customers, reps, municipalities and industry influencers such as key contractors.
  • Document and communicate relevant trends in the region.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum Experience: 60 months of combined civil engineering and sales experience working with engineers and municipalities to drive specification sales.
  • Special Requirement: Must hold a Professional Engineer License from Canada or the United States.
  • Travel Requirement: 50% Domestic Travel.
