Configuration Manager (CM) Engineer

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Collaborates with project team and stakeholders to understand configuration management requirements on assigned projects, paying particular attention to identification of hardware/software, change controls, and status accounting.
  • Reviews engineering and software documents; compares details to hardware or software segments or the breakdown structures of project work.
  • Reviews and analyzes initial plans, templates, drawings, and/or software documents to ensure continuity of product design configuration.
  • Collaborates with other senior-level staff to prepare engineering modification proposals.
  • Implements approved modifications to engineering or software.
  • Assists with developing and implementing as-built records and status accounting systems for assigned projects.
  • Ensures parts numbering and serialization are maintained, as noted in plans and specifications, by managing the product identification process.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



SKILL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Ability to read plans, software/hardware documents, and drawings
  • Ability to gather and compile data from a variety of departments.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.



QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor's Degree in related field required.
  • At least ten years of related experience highly preferred.
  • Successful experience working in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Word.



WORK ENVIRONMENT:



  • The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where all areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shops and other mandatory safety equipment.
  • For the most part, ambient temperatures with typical plant lighting and manufacturing equipment are present throughout the facility.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



  • Sitting or standing as needed
  • Walking primarily on a level surface for periodically throughout the day
