About the Role

Culmen International is hiring an Environmental Compatibility Engineer / Scientist (Journeyman) to provide support for the Research Directorate at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division and will be onsite in Lakehurst, NJ.

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst (LKE) Mission Operations & Integration (MO&I) Department. NAWCAD LKE is the lead activity responsible for Navy Aircraft Platform Support Equipment (SE), Aircraft Launch Recovery Equipment (ALRE), and provides support to additional Joint Service, Foreign Military Sales (FMS), and Department of Defense (DoD) programs. The successful execution of these efforts results in logistics, engineering, and cyber work products for each aircraft and associated support systems.

What You'll Do in Your New Role

    Assess and ensure that engineering projects and products comply with environmental regulations and standards
  • Conduct environmental impact assessments
  • Develop mitigation strategies
  • Implement sustainable practices to minimize environmental footprints
  • Collaborate with design and development teams to integrate eco-friendly solutions through out project lifecycle
  • Initial planning to final execution of project lifecycle
  • Monitor and analyze environmental data
  • Prepare detail reports and documentation to support regulatory submissions to stakeholder communications
  • Stay informed of environmental laws and emerging trends
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in environmental compatibility practices within the organization


Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience of environmental compatability engineering
  • BS Degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Studies, or Environmental Law
  • Active Secret Clearance


Desired Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
