DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Our enthusiastic and dedicated nursing staff provides 24-hour care, seven days a week. From helping our residents prepare for their day to assisting them to participate in exciting activities, you will play a huge role in their day. Through this day-to-day contact with our residents, you will have the ability to positively impact their quality of life by providing the best possible care.
This role serves as a stepping stone towards becoming a Nurse Aide. Upon completion of an 8-hour training course and successfully passing the competency exam, the 16-hour classroom course, and an 80-hour orientation program you will be promoted to a Nurse Aide position. This promotion will allow you to take on more responsibilities and advance your career in the health care field.

- Full-time employment (8.0 hours per day; 40 hours per week)
- During classroom orientation work hours will be 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. After certification is obtained, work hours will be 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM or 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM; rotating days and weekends, and every other holiday; with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS Additional Requirement:
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Willingness and ability to work in Scranton, PA
- Willingness to work a full-time permanent position for the 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM shift or the 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM shift with rotating days and weekends, every other holiday (after certification is obtained on an 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM shift classroom orientation)
- Completion of an 8-hour online training course prior to hire and providing a certificate of completion
- Work experience caring for geriatric or physically ill individuals
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
