Position Overview

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Training & Development Lead to assist in defining training needs, develop standardized curricula, and guide both the short- and long-term learning strategies for a newly developed digital training platform called Coaching HER. Coaching HER is a program of Tucker Center for Research on Girls and Women in Sport at the University of Minnesota.

Job Responsibilities -

Coordination 100%

  • Identify training needs for users across various sports, and levels of sport organizations
  • Develop and implement standard training curricula and materials.
  • Partner with leadership to shape both short- and long-term training strategies.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure new educational content and formatting adheres to best practice.
  • Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness, making improvements as indicated based on qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in training, instructional design, or organizational development.
  • Strong project management and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working independently in a 1099 contractor capacity.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with people from a variety of communities, backgrounds, and identities.
  • Proficient with learning tools, instructional design software, and educational digital platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Articulate, Canvas)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in original curriculum development, change management, and adult learning.
  • Ability to align tactical training solutions with broader strategic goals.
  • Experience with nonprofits, social impact organizations, or early-stage teams.
  • Experience and understanding of sport coaching principles and sport organization structure.

The School of Kinesiology focuses on the biological, developmental, social, and behavioral bases of physical activity, recreation, sport and human performance through its programs in kinesiology, recreation and leisure students, and sport studies. The degree programs in the School prepare students for a variety of professional opportunities in both the public and private sector. Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: The salary for this position is $15.75 - $40.00. Final salary offers are dependent on the candidate's experience, skills, and internal equity within the department.

Time Appointment: 25%

Position Type: Temporary
