Location: Parker Aerospace Group - DSD-Irvine, CA

Duration of Summer Internship: 10 - 12 Weeks

Position Summary:

As IT Helpdesk Intern, you will provide maintenance of the computer desktop environment by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, installing hardware and software solutions, maintaining inventory lists and documenting all related changes. You will be responsible for administration and internal support of the Company's PCs, printers, and related equipment. Tasks include end user support, license tracking on purchased products, asset management, and performing PC maintenance, upgrades and configurations. Helpdesk performs tasks assigned by other teams for facilities projects (cable running, server room cleaning, etc.). Additional responsibilities include, and are not limited to:

  • Setup and Maintenance of Computers, Printers, Phones Etc.
  • Image new computer hardware in preparation for deployment to end-user, install and update computer software.
  • Proper disposal of older equipment
  • Computer and Printer Inventory / Supplies
  • Password resets, cable Management
  • Monitor/Assign and respond to tickets submitted through Help Desk Ticket System

Qualifications:

  • Education: Current student in a local college or university (must be enrolled) toward BS degree in Computer Science or related field. Must have completed two years of courses in Computer Science or related field; three years preferred. A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better is preferred.
  • Some technical training or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of Personal Computer (PC) hardware and software
  • Must have excellent customer service demeanor, verbal communication skills
  • Strong people and team skills.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work tasks during shift.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and handle multiple projects
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team setting working towards group goals.
  • Full-time availability (up to 40 hours) during the summer.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California, New York, Washington. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations.

The wage range for this role considers allowances for a number of factors, including but not limited to required experience, skill level, prior training, licensure/certifications, education, and other business needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $21/hour - $25/hour.
