Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is seeking a full-time Perfusionist to join the team. We are currently hiring full-time (40 hrs/week). The role will require working varied shifts and schedule + on-call. Perfusionist 2 Job Responsibilities:

• The Perfusionist 2 operates extracorporeal equipment for surgical procedures. Provides cardiopulmonary bypass set-up, disassembly, and maintenance for various surgical procedures (e.g. CABG, valve repair/replacements, VAD insertions, heart and lung transplants, non-complex aortic procedures, and minimally invasive procedures).
• Collaborates with internal teams for maintenance of Perfusion equipment while adhering to safety guidelines.
• Participates in routine responsibilities related to the daily operations of the Perfusion department while maintaining professional obligations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Perfusionist 2 Requirements:

• Work Schedule: Full-time varied shift and schedules plus on-call requirement
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in a medical/science field and completion of a perfusionist certificate
• Experience: Three years of experience in documented clinical competency in all Perfusionist 1 skillsets and/or ability to perform and cover pediatric surgeries.
  
  
  
  • Training in complex aortic procedures including thoracoabdominal, complete arch repairs with circulatory arrest and cerebral perfusion.
  • Training in VAD device assembly, operation, troubleshooting and transport. Or documented competency in required clinical skills and administration contributions.

  • Certified Clinical Perfusionist required upon start.
  • Basic Life Support from AHA required upon start.
