CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

(1) Manage and control within the lab procurement function the following:



  • - Schedule delivery
  • - Inventory level
  • - Purchase order placement
  • - Purchasing records and systems
  • - Disposition of obsolete and/or surplus materials
  • - Generation and completion of Purchase orders
  • - Vendor contacts
  • - Quality complaints and service problems


(2) Develop, implement and monitor, in conjunction with Lab Management a material inventory control strategy.

(3) Recommend material and supply items alternate resources.

(4) Obtain inventory forecasts, maintain stocking locations, and opening order requirements for new product introductions from Lab Management.

(5) Coordinates meetings and interactions with vendors, manufacturing plants, suppliers, and other parties to ensure effective relationships, quality services, and efficient operations.

(6) Knows and willingly practices all safety rules and participates in the safety program.

(7) Assuring that laboratory needs are met through timely acquisition of the necessary materials.

(8) Achieving required inventory management by carefully managing material acquisitions.

(9) Seek ways and means to reduce operating costs and better the quality of the business.

(10) Facilitates material procurement to accommodate emergency situations.

(11) Research and reports on any issues regarding inventory questions or concerns.

(12) Expedites order changes, as needed such as requirement or delivery date changes.

(13) Maintain accurate records of purchases through site order tracking.

(14) Initiate and maintain effective and professional relationships with suppliers.

(15) Analyze potential improvement opportunities.

(16) Complete cycle counts periodically to determine inventory quantities and levels.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

FORMAL EDUCATION:

Required:



  • Must have Bachelor's Degree or at least 4 years' experience in lieu of education


Preferred:



  • A Bachelor's Degree in Operations or Supply Chain Management is preferred


KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:



  • Experience in material buying
  • Strong Communication skills both oral and written
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and continually manage multiple demands
  • Are you at least eighteen (18) years of age? (Minimum Requirement)
  • Are you legally authorized to work in the country of employment? (Minimum Requirement)
  • Do you require sponsorship now or in the future for employment visa status? (Minimum Requirement)
  • Do you have a High School diploma or GED? (Minimum Requirement)


Preferred:



  • One or more years' experience in Supply Chain preferred
  • Experience with Coupa
  • Experience with Chemical Inventory Management Systems


TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Required:



  • Experience with inventory management and purchase order systems


Preferred:



  • Experience with Coupa, Onbase, Business Objects, IVAN
