Sr. Estimator
The Sr. Estimator prepares bids for customer requests by calculating and analyzing material costs and
evaluating the entire customer package.

Job Summary
- Review specifications, drawings, verbal instructions, and interpret for material and labor requirements
- Formulate preliminary Bid/No-Bid recommendations
- Develop material requirements and enter into the bid system database
- Solicit appropriate vendors for material pricing; negotiate prices as necessary
- Combine labor and material estimates from vendors and/or internal sources and prepare preliminary quotation
- Review quotes for accuracy, possibly including quotes from other department staff, and forward for further approval
- Coordinate bid efforts with appropriate managers and other departments when necessary
- Adhere to General Requirements of Team Members
- Perform other assignments as required
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Demonstrated skill in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and specifications
- Planning and organization skills-prioritization, resource allocation, multi-tasking
- Must have intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access
- Intermediate level with MRPII
- Negotiation and conflict management skills
- Analytical skills to prepare most competitive/profitable proposal
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Thorough working knowledge of manufacturing processes and capabilities; technical knowledge to understand cable fabrication
- Detail-oriented and highly accurate
Required Experience and Education
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience
- 2-4 years progressive experience performing estimating functions
Licenses, Certifications, etc.
Work Environment and Safety Equipment
Required:
- Office environment and light manufacturing environment
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
