As a senior member of the OptumRx CPS Outpatient Finance team, this position will report to the Sr Director of Finance and play a key role as the financial advisor and strategic partner to the business Executive and Senior Vice Presidents.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Participates in the review and renegotiation of site contracts. Provides financial insight and recommendations to operational management on contractual issues and ensures compliance with contract terms and conditions
  • Builds strong working relationships with key customer stakeholders (Hospital Admin, Hospital CFO and team, DOPs/HSD) to optimize financial results. Gains buy-in and credibility for desired financial outcomes through timely and accountable actions. Delivers a high level of customer service to external clients
  • Communicates regularly with site and Regional Operations support teams through financial activities oversight and client reviews. Escalates problem resolution and manages team expectations. Delivers a high level of customer service to internal clients
  • Manages and conducts financial analysis, performs budgeting and month end review, and assesses risk. Evaluates need, recommends corrective actions, and implements controls to meet financial goals
  • Provides leadership and guidance to direct and indirect support teams. Mentor and coach direct reports to encourage growth and development in Operations Finance
  • Performs other duties and special projects as requested by Sr. Finance leadership. Perform quality assurance and testing on new application development or enhancements
  • Is responsive to concerns or requests of other CPS employees, Hospital staff, and clients
  • Maintains employee and patient confidentiality
  • Communicates information clearly and accurately in a courteous manner and tone

Required Qualifications:



  • BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 7+ years of relevant, high-impact financial experience
  • Experience communicating complex thoughts in a clear, concise, and timely manner both in written and oral form
  • Data and analytics as a core competency
  • Ability to work independently with key business executives (Finance, Operations, Sales, Payer, etc.) to evaluate business processes and key drivers of operational and business performance
  • Demonstrated combination of creativity and discipline applied to execution of scalable new growth initiatives



Preferred Qualifications:



  • 2+ years of experience in pharmacy, PBM, or pricing
  • Solid analytics background and attention to details
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrixed organization and with cross-functional partners
  • Ability to anticipate issues, assess implications and implement appropriate action plans
  • Ability to lead conversations with executive team members to discuss performance results, promote engagement and drive results

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
