What you will be doing: AIS is seeking a high-energy Business Development/Capture Executive to drive business opportunities with a focus on Department of Justice. You will work closely with the Civilian Business Unit leadership to drive the full lifecycle of business development from opportunity identification through qualification, capture, submission, and award. This role is ideal for a growth professional who understands agencies within the Department of Justice and how they procure services to include high profile agency IDIQs. Key Responsibilities:
- Build and manage a qualified pipeline of IT and mission support opportunities focused on a high-profile agency IDIQs and other contract vehicles within the Department of Justice
- Analyze solicitation requirements (RFP, RFQ, RFI), customer needs, partner ecosystem, and competitive landscape
- Build relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders to strengthen positioning and increase win probability
- Conduct gate reviews and status briefings to leadership throughout the capture lifecycle
- Coordinate with proposal managers, solution architects, and other personnel to ensure alignment with capture strategies and solutions
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends, procurement practices, and competitors.
- Engage customers through outbound efforts, events, social media, and tailored messaging
- Maintain pipeline hygiene and tracking in CRM with strong forecasting discipline
- Collaborate with Microsoft Partner Development Managers (PDMs), Sellers, and account teams to align on co-sell opportunities
- Function as the voice of the customer to internal solution teams
Required Qualifications:
- 5-8+ years in in capture management/business development role, or direct, recent government experience at the Department of Justice
- Demonstrated business development success in Department of Justice or existing government relationships with key DOJ decision-makers
- Ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, contracts, and delivery teams and brief executive leadership on account plans and pipeline reviews
- Experience qualifying and developing new leads, nurturing opportunities through the funnel, and coordinating with solution architects to build win themes, proposal solutions, and customer messaging or direct understanding of the government procurement process from requirement through award
- Excellent communication, storytelling, and stakeholder engagement skills - able to deliver compelling outreach, presentations, and customer messaging
- Proficiency in CRM tools and disciplined pipeline hygiene and forecasting
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of government procurement processes (e.g., FAR)
- Familiarity with pricing strategies
- Experience winning work through task order driven BPAs, GWACs, and IDIQs
- Prior success working in a cross-functional go-to-market team (BD, marketing, delivery, alliances)
- Experience delivering IT and mission solutions to the Department of Justice and/or other civilian agencies in the national security enterprise
- Exposure to innovation-led deals (e.g., platform builds, AI prototypes) is a strong plus
- Ability to leverage professional relationships with Federal government decision-makers
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft ecosystem: Familiar with Microsoft Azure, M365, and co-sell motions
