Aircraft Engine Mechanic (T-56 / C-130 B Model)

STS Technical Services is now hiring Aircraft Engine Mechanics to support a short-term contract on a 1959 C-130 B Model aircraft in Rome, New York. This is an urgent opportunity for skilled mechanics with hands-on experience working on T-56 engines and legacy C-130 platforms.

This role requires immediate availability, so if you're ready to deploy and hit the ground running, we want to hear from you.

• Install and remove T-56 engines, including proper mounting with gimbal rigging and propeller hanging.
  
• Perform functional checks and alignment tests to ensure engine systems operate within required parameters.
  
• Read and interpret technical orders, maintenance manuals, and engineering instructions.
  
• Execute both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance per military and OEM specifications.
  
• Ensure all maintenance work is documented in compliance with DOT regulations.
  

• Hands-on experience with T-56 engines (military or civilian aviation backgrounds accepted).
  
• Proficient in propeller hanging and gimbal rigging for C-130 engine installations.
  
• Prior experience with C-130 B Model aircraft is strongly preferred.
  
• Ability to troubleshoot engine systems and follow complex technical documentation.
  
• Must be eligible for DOT-regulated work and able to begin immediately.
  
• Willing and able to commit to a 1-2 month contract assignment.
  

• Housing, meals, and transportation are fully covered for the duration of this project.
