The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Policy Analyst to provide support for our government customer in Fort Collins, CO.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Issues Management

  • Utilize an existing centralized tracking tool that tracks action items, issues, and data calls; maintaining the input of information into the existing tracking tool; following up on pending actions as necessary; and providing reports on pending and completed actions.

  • Receive, triage to Branch leadership, and return responses to Policy issues management requests, including emergency response-related issues management requests.

  • In coordination with the Policy Team, receive, triage to appropriate Branch staff, and return public inquiries, including emergency response-related public inquiries.

General Policy Support

  • Provide updates for congressional inquiries and requests for hearings, briefings, and information as directed by the Policy Team leadership.

  • Draft documents such as one-page fact sheets proposals, and other related materials as directed by the Policy Team.

Administrative Support

  • Administrative support for Vector Day, Vector Week 2026, and emergency response-related meetings. Vector Day is an annual one-day virtual meeting and Vector Week 2026 is a biannual in-person/hybrid meeting for funded recipients, including the Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity (ELC), Centers of Excellence (CoE) and Training and Evaluation Centers (TEC) funding recipients, as well as other federal and national partners.

o Vector Day

* Preparing draft meeting materials and tracking registration

* Collaborating with Branch representatives to develop a draft program agenda

* Supporting coordination and execution of the virtual event, including serving as a coordinator within the Zoom webinar and supporting breakout group execution

* Taking notes with key action items documented

o Emergency response-related meetings (webinar and partner-coordinated in-person) coordination

* Preparing draft meeting materials

* Collaborating with Branch representatives to develop a draft program agenda

* Supporting coordination and execution of the in-person/hybrid event(s)

o Vector Week 2026

* Preparing draft meeting materials and tracking registration

* Collaborating with Branch representatives to develop a draft program agenda

Monthly Reporting

  • Prepare and submit Monthly Progress reports in narrative form which shall contain results of the work accomplished during the reporting period. This report shall be in sufficient detail to disclose all work started and results achieved during the reporting period, an indication of any current problems which may impede performance, the proposed corrective action, and the work forecast for the next period.

  • All other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

Bachelor's Degree preferred

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

3 years' experience functioning in a similar capacity

REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:

US Citizenship required
