Social Media Marketing Intern

The Fareway Social Media Marketing internship will serve to assist the Assistant and Social Media Managers, Sr. Director of Marketing, and Marketing Department with their initiatives. Opportunities will be available within this role to work directly on social media platforms, create content, manage analytics, and participate in outside events.

The duration of the 2025 Social Media Marketing Internship is scheduled to occur from approximately June 2025 through
September 2025, or during a timeframe mutually agreed upon between Fareway Stores, Inc. and the intern.

Responsibilities:
The goal of the Fareway internship program is to provide an experience which will expose the intern with real life work opportunities, provide on-the-job experience and to learn more about long-term career opportunities within our company:
* Assist marketing team in planning, posting, and executing content on current social platforms i.e. social graphics, video content, copywriting, etc.
* Collaborate with other departments to determine social media opportunities.
* Become familiar with social media management platforms and analytic reporting.
* Monitor local store social media pages and provide assistance as needed.
* Partake in community management and outreach on platforms.
* Attend events such as the Iowa State Fair, store openings and ribbon cuttings, virtual classes, etc.
* Assist with our Reppin' The F ambassador program i.e. planning, setting up and social content for Banquet, onboarding boxes, communications, etc.
* Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Requirements:
* Pursuing or has obtained a degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, Advertising, or Business.
* Strong working knowledge of social media platforms.
* Must be familiar with photo and video editing and graphic design platforms, such as Canva, Illustrator, etc.
* Desire to expand knowledge of photography and videography skills and editing.
* Creative self-starter.
* Team-oriented/strong interpersonal skills.
* Excellent writing and communication skills.
* Demonstrate strong organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Currently enrolled in a four-year degree program or recent graduate.
* Previous experience in social media marketing.
