The Developer Engineer III will directly support client delivery with a focus on demonstrating value and impact delivered. Developer Engineer III leads the design and implementation of secure back-end architectures for JOMIS-compatible systems. This senior-level role focuses on integrating back-end services, ensuring data flow integrity, and adhering to Department of Defense (DoD) security coding standards. Developer Engineer III collaborates with development teams to build scalable, secure solutions that support clinical data interoperability within military health environments.

Type of Employment: Full-time, W2

Work Location/Travel: Remote with up to 25% travel to Navy installations, military treatment facilities, or government offices; relocation not required

Salary Range: $115,000-$145,000 annually (W2, based on education, experience, and geographic location)

Role Reports to: Project Manager

Direct Reports: This role has no direct reports

Responsibilities:

  • Lead secure back-end development for JOMIS-compatible systems.

  • Design and implement system architectures to support clinical data flow and integration.

  • Ensure compliance with DoD security coding standards and best practices.

  • Integrate back-end services with front-end applications and external systems.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system design, development, and deployment.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • In-depth understanding of systems architecture and secure software development.

  • Expertise in back-end service integration and data flow design.

  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles in a DoD environment.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Education/Certification Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience Required:

  • 13+ years of experience in systems architecture and back-end development.

  • Proven experience integrating services into JOMIS-compatible systems.

Technical Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in secure coding practices and software development lifecycle.

  • Experience with back-end technologies, databases, and integration frameworks.

  • Knowledge of clinical data management and system interoperability.

Desirable (Not Required) Skills/Experience:

  • Experience working with DoD-approved security coding standards.

  • Familiarity with JOMIS and military health IT environments.
