WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Manager IT Risk Assessment is responsible for managing proactive risk assessment methodologies and processes to support the advancement of RBCB's IT risk profile, as well as supporting logical access controls periodically. The role will lead and execute risk assessment activities to ensure IT Risk & Regulatory group's strategic objectives are accomplished, in alignment to RBC Risk Management Framework and regulatory expectations. The role requires deep collaboration with peer risk groups and IT partners.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Provide ongoing assessment of IT risk strategies, frameworks and processes to ensure continued alignment with emerging trends and regulatory expectations.

  • Define, implement and monitor risk assessment methodologies and monitoring tools to identify technology related risks.
  • Perform comprehensive compliance assessments, including GLBA and FedLine, by mapping and coordinating controls across relevant areas, to thoroughly document control results and provide a definitive overall compliance status
  • Participate in internal & external audit exams and other continuous monitoring activities as required in support of Cyber Security Risk and Logical Access Security Risk
  • Facilitate onboarding of applications to Access Manager based on risk, complexity, impact and business objectives.
  • Provision/de-provision access to select applications based upon proper approvals.
  • Remediate audit issues including review of control deficiencies and provide closing evidence by committed dates for Logical Security issues.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT or related field
  • Minimum of 4 years in risk management with a strong focus on mitigation and remediation.
  • Understanding of US & Canadian regulatory environment (OCC, FRB, and OSFI ) including reporting requirements. Prior or current financial services experience required.
  • Ability to perform IT risk assessments following a defined Risk Management framework, standards, policies, and industry best practices and with an investigative mind.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills and experience managing and prioritizing multiple risk remediation projects simultaneously.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience interacting with USA, UK, EU or APAC regulators
  • Currently hold a related industry certification, such as CRISC, CISA, CISM, CAMS, CISSP, etc.
