What is the Opportunity? We have a unique opportunity at RBC to build and evolve a new digital cash management business. Your role will be to use your deep knowledge of data, combined with your understanding of the Business and Functional partner needs to bring our data to life. You are a thoughtful, proactive, creative, analytical individual with a passion for solving our clients and colleagues' problem using data. What will you do?
- Collaborate with Technology on the build of the foundational data layer including data infrastructureand provide business requirements and direction to Functional Partners
- Work with Functional and IT partners to define strategic and tactical data requirements of the organization to fulfill business needs.
- Drive the key initiatives of the Data team and make sure the initiatives are aligned to Functional requirements and run smoothly
- Be the Data SME and primary contact supporting the Functional Partners ensuring data quality and data governance exceed Bank Enterprise Standards
- Understand the data sources, flows, architecture, data repositories and data requirements for the Functional Partners as downstream users
- Provide input in the review of Critical Data Element (CDEs), identifying data risks and designing corresponding data controls and risk mitigation
- Working with the Functional partners to ensure the Business complies with the Banks data privacy policies and industry data protection regulations.
- Use and adopt Agile best practice
- Promote a data-driven culture
What do you need to succeed? Must-have
- 10+ years experience supporting a data initiative
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology or related field
- Understanding of key functional partners covering Finance, Risk, Tax, Corporate Treasury and IT
- Database development, querying and analysis tools and languages such as SQL, Oracle, Data Visualization, PowerBI, Tableau etc
- Passion for data, and commitment to learn new data capabilities
- Understanding of technical data concepts such as data ingestion, data warehouse, data lakes, master reference data, data models, systems of record, aggregation layer and reporting systems
- Experience with using Jira and Confluence
- Excellent business communication skills (written and oral).
- Ability to work independently and possess strong analytical and data problem-solving skills
- Strong collaboration and relationship management skills
- Effective time management and organizational skills to meet tight timeframes, as well as flexibility to adapt to changing priorities while assessing impact to existing work

The expected salary range for this particular position is $180,000-$250,000, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs. You have the potential to earn more through RBC's discretionary variable compensation program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
