Description
The Network Engineer role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the company's network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability. This includes managing network hardware, software, and communication links, as well as troubleshooting network issues and providing technical support.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Oversee the daily operations of the network infrastructure, including monitoring network performance and troubleshooting issues.
- Design and implement network solutions infrastructure, including enterprise-level routers / switches / firewalls / VPNs / access points / VoIP systems.
- Install servers, software and other devices on the Network according to schedule or as requested,
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure minimal downtime.
- Maintain and update network hardware and software to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborating with IT leadership and business partners
- Troubleshoot malfunctions of network hardware and software applications, telephones and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services.
- Provide 24/7 availability and participate in on-call rotation
- Maintain network documentation
- Provides support and incident remediation both on and off-site as well as remote access
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), architectural diagrams, and data flows.
- Provide ongoing support in a 24x7x365 environment.
- Assist with day-to-day support when required.
- Other duties may be assigned, directed, or requested.
What You Will Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field is required.
- Two (2) to four (4) years' experience with network engineering principles and practices including TCP/IP, DNS, SNMP, WAN technologies, VLANs and LAN switching and routing are required.
- Experience in LAN, WAN, security design, configuration and administration including firewall and VPN technologies is required.
- Three (3) to five (5) years' experience with system administration including server-side development, building and maintaining Hyper-V, Microsoft Active Directory and server systems hardware and architecture is required.
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Azure are preferred.
- Knowledge and experience of storage area networks is preferred.
- Strong collaboration, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Proven influence skills, both verbally and via presentations.
- Ability to read, interpret, and prepare documents such as instructions and procedure manuals.
- Strong to advanced experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.
- Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to speak with all levels of the organization and outside partners.
- Ability to communicate complicated information to others.
- Ability to read and interpret, and also to prepare documents such as instructions and procedure manuals.
- Remains open to the ideas of others and exhibits a willingness to try new things.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate at low decibels.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
Salary: $85,000.00 - $92,000.00
