DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW Under the general direction of Print Media faculty, the incumbent provides technical support for the Print Media area for summer courses. The Art Department currently consists of 13 permanent faculty, 30 visiting lecturers per year, 8 technical and clerical staff, and approximately 500 art undergraduate majors and 20 graduate students. The major functional areas of responsibility include demonstrations, safety, and clean up of Print Media equipment and spaces. The Art department staff promote a strong spirit of teamwork and embrace UCSC's Principles of Community in meeting the needs of a diverse range of constituents. JOB SUMMARY The incumbent provides technical support, demonstrations, equipment maintenance, and cleanup for the print media courses Introduction to Printmaking and Drawing and Art of Bookmaking. They provide demonstrations on technique and process, answer student questions on technique and materials, maintain the Print Studio area, and assist faculty and students with health and safety protocols.
