Job Summary Under General Directive supervision, in accordance with the Station Operating License, Technical Specifications, and Operating License, Technical Specifications, and Operating procedures, performs special analyses and tests; and perform duties such as those listed in job description.Job Description 1. Performing special tests utilizing special techniques in areas of radiation detection and sampling, assisting in the planning and execution of experimental techniques. 2. Preparing Radiation Work Permits to specify radiological work conditions and required protective clothing and equipment; assisting in the preparation of complex RWP's and associated ALARA job briefing. 3. Calibrating and repairing complex radiation monitoring equipment. 4. Performing complex investigations, evaluations, inspections and tests on various nuclear power plant operations. 5. Controlling the release and receipt of radioactive materials and equipment from/to the Station and ascertaining regulatory requirements have been filled. 6. Instructing personnel on radiological protection standards. 7. Instructing and training employees in Radiation Protection duties. 8. Satisfactory completion of all assigned courses, training, Qualification Cards and Requalification Training. 9. Assisting in reporting errors, and making suggestions for improvement of procedures and tests. 10. Performing similar or less skilled duties, as assigned. 11. Working with employees in higher classifications and performing other duties as necessary. Requirements: Must meet the Company's requirements as to General Qualifications, must meet all duties and qualifications of the Associate Radiation Protection Technician and, in addition: 1. Must meet ANSI 18.1 requirements for Radiation Protection Technician 2. Must have demonstrated ability in the performance of the duties of Associate Radiation Protection Tech or have equivalent experience. 3. Must have demonstrated ability in preparing reports and graphs; 4. Must have thorough working knowledge of operation of test instruments and equipment used, Station Technical Specs, Quality Assurance, and administrative procedures; 5. Must have the ability to receive, interpret and pass on orders and instructions in a manner that will maintain harmony and safety and obtain cooperation and satisfactory work results; 6. Must be willing to work in Radiological Restricted Areas & qualify to wear respiratory equipment.
