Bachoco USA is seeking an MRO Purchasing Specialistfor the Fort Smith, AR Central Offices.

Summary: The MRO Purchasing Specialist is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials and services related to maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO). This role supports plant and facility operations by ensuring the timely delivery of critical spare parts, consumables, and service contracts, while managing supplier relationships and optimizing costs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Purchase MRO supplies, tools, spare parts, and services in accordance with company policies and operational needs.
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to identify and forecast material needs.
• Evaluate and select suppliers based on price, quality, delivery, and service.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier databases, and part catalogs.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve supply chain issues in a timely manner.
• Ensure timely delivery and follow up on backorders or delayed shipments.
• Work with inventory management to maintain optimal stock levels and avoid stockouts.
• Support initiatives related to cost reduction, vendor consolidation, and process improvement.
• Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as corporate policies.

Education and/or Experience

• Associate's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not mandatory if experience is strong.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Experience:

• 3-5 years of direct purchasing experience, preferably with MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) materials.
• Hands-on experience managing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing/contracts, and sourcing new vendors.
• Experience working with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Coupa, or similar); Coupa experience preferred.

• Familiarity with inventory management principles and warehouse coordination.

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, including RFQs (Request for Quotes), PO (Purchase Order) creation, and supplier onboarding.
• Ability to analyze spend data, identify cost-saving opportunities, and suggest improvements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel - intermediate to advanced level, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
• Skilled at vendor communication, negotiation, and problem resolution.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Ability to handle a high volume of transactions with accuracy and speed.

• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Occasional travel to manufacturing plants or warehouses (typically local/regional).
• Preferred Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred for plant support environments. (not required).
