Job Summary:

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused CNC Bandsaw Operator / Material Handler to join our production team. This hybrid role is responsible for accurately cutting materials using CNC bandsaw equipment, handling materials throughout the facility, and managing inventory to ensure production efficiency. The ideal candidate will have experience operating industrial machinery, maintaining inventory, and safely moving materials in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

CNC Bandsaw Operation:

  • Set up, program, and operate CNC bandsaws to cut raw materials per job specifications and work orders.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and cut lists to determine proper dimensions and cutting sequences.
  • Monitor machine operations for quality, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Inspect raw and finished materials for defects, tolerance compliance, and finish quality.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance, blade changes, and troubleshooting as needed.

Material Handling:

  • Load and unload materials safely using forklifts, pallet jacks, or overhead cranes.
  • Stage raw materials for production and transport cut materials to designated areas or departments.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Label and tag cut parts and inventory items accurately for tracking and traceability.
  • Assist with physical inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor stock levels of raw materials, blades, tooling, and consumables.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using spreadsheets or inventory management software.
  • Place timely orders for materials and supplies to prevent production interruptions.
  • Receive, inspect, and properly store incoming materials, ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and vendors regarding deliveries, discrepancies, or supply issues.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience operating CNC bandsaws or similar industrial cutting equipment (1+ years preferred).
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain (training provided).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and measuring tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and organizational skills.
  • Capable of lifting materials up to [insert weight, e.g., 50 lbs] and working on your feet for extended periods.
