Description

The Director is responsible for the fiscal, human resources, clinical, and communication operations of the Santa Monica Ambulatory Surgery Center. The Director's professional role description is based on ANA's Nursing Administration's Scope of Standards and UCLA's Nursing Professional Practice Model. The incumbent serves a role of providing enterprise leadership in workflow optimization for clinical resources and nursing oversight to clinical staff for PTU/PACU, OR, and SPD.

Qualifications

Required:

  • California RN license
  • Bachelors and Masters Degree required, one of which must be in Nursing
  • BLS from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a perioperative setting
  • BLS from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • Ability to communicate effectively and knowledge of UCLA policies
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to effectively manage disaster incidents and sentinel events
  • Excellent communication skills and familiarity with UCLA policies and procedures
  • Proven ability to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care needs
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated ability to educate and inform staff, patients, and families


Preferred:

  • Certification as a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room (CNOR) or Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse (CAPA)/Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN)
