Job Description

Position Summary:

The Production Supervisor will directly supervise manufacturing shop floor operations, driving results to meet production goals and objectives with a specific focus on the paint, plating, and anodize departments. They will do this by striving to continually meet or exceed production plans, meet productivity goals and other key performance indicators while maintaining a safe work environment, superior product quality, and exceptional employee relations.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Owns department goals and objectives driving results and identifying improvement opportunities
  • Coordinates, implements, monitors and updates key performance objectives to meet production goals
  • Directly supervises hourly production employees
  • Removes roadblocks for department employees, ensuring their success
  • Ensures employees are adhearing to safety, quality, and organization proedures and policies
  • Drives continuous improvement within department
  • Identifies and executes cost reduction initiatives
  • Partners with HR to address employee relations issues, complaints, or grievances
  • Partners with Quality to align production goals with the Business Quality Management System (BQMS)
  • Champions Six Sigma and facilitates lean initiatives
  • Motivates and holds employees accountable to production objectives
  • Observe safety and security procedures and proper use of equipment and material. Actively promote safety process and report any safety issues to proper channels for action.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

  • Ability to motivate, develop, and direct employees
  • Skilled at analyzing and making data drive decisions
  • Skilled communicator able to clearly articulate expectations and results across all levels
  • Strong understanding of production processes, quality controls, and cost management
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering and manufacturing including communication techniques, production procedures, and resources relevant to the production goals
  • Proven ability to demonstrate strategic planning and forecasting through the use of production methods
  • Lean manufacturing expereience including 6-S, Visual Controls, Standard Work, work center metrics, and continuous improvement processes
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives with competing deadlines.

Required Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management or comparable experience in a related field
  • 3+ years Supervisory experience
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
  • Aerospace experience preferred
