Job Description

Location Profile:

Headquartered in Irvine, CA, Shur-Lok manufactures fastening systems with superior locking devices for critical requirements including engine module assembly, structural assembly, rotor blade attachment, and aircraft engine shaft and spindle applications. Operations at the Irvine location include CNC Machining, Punch Press, Thread Rolling, Laser Marking, Heat Treating, NDT, and EDM.

Summary:

The supply chain intern will function within Purchasing, Planning, and Stockroom duties to learn the operational/tactical aspects of each function, perform administrative tasks, assist core team members, manage projects and tasks as directed.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Under minimal supervision, provides clerical and administrative support to the Supply Chain department:

  • Assist in administrative tasks including work order generation, critical order tracking, perform router updates, perform weekly WIP quantity verification, purchase order filing, raw material availability verification, PO follow up and invoice/receipts reconciliation.
  • Support inventory integrity including cycle counts, materials identification, organization and logistics activities. Occasional lifting of packages up to 35lbs as part of familiarization with shipping and warehousing activities.

Qualifications:

  • Current student pursuing a bachelor's or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with a results-driven mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter possessing a high level of integrity.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, such as Excel, Word, etc.
  • Must be reliable, flexible, and punctual
  • Highly adaptable to working in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Availability to work 30+ hours per week during the internship period.

Expectation:

  • Within 3 months: understand SC key activities, organizational stakeholders and processes as outlined in primary duties.
  • > 3 Months: facilitate 1-2 process improvement projects; for example, based upon understanding of work order generation, establish project plan to reduce tasks, duration, digitize, etc.
  • Lead SC NPI processes and stakeholder engagement. Track project from design to completion based upon existing process.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $21 to $23 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. Employees will receive 0 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
