Job Description

Position Summary:

The Planner 1 is an entry-level professional responsible for supporting the coordination of material planning and production scheduling activities in accordance with established procedures, customer requirements, and internal quality standards. This position works closely with senior planners and cross-functional teams to help ensure accurate job scheduling, timely release of work orders, and alignment with production priorities.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Use the ERP system to evaluate and validate the accurate creation and release of production orders.
  • Plan and release jobs in alignment with ERP recommendations to support efficient production scheduling.
  • Review internal purchase orders for discrepancies and take corrective action as needed.
  • Enter and maintain customer forecasts in the ERP system to support accurate demand planning.
  • Ensure document accuracy by reviewing and updating job travelers, drawings, and related documentation.
  • Confirm lead times are accurate and align with customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to monitor job queues and escalate issues to the Manufacturing Supervisor and Project Manager when necessary.
  • Analyze ERP data to determine which jobs require firming and prioritize based on production needs.
  • Verify material availability and lead times to support uninterrupted production flow.
  • Prepare, print, and distribute job travelers and complete documentation packages, including engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Support work order planning and releases based on real-time ERP data and production schedules.
  • Maintain accurate and timely updates to production data within the ERP system.
  • Participate in daily and weekly production planning meetings and provide input on scheduling challenges or improvements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment of job priorities and customer delivery expectations.
  • Monitor open jobs to identify and escalate any risks to production flow or schedule adherence.
  • Keep accurate records related to production planning, work orders, and job documentation.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for assigned customers and coordinate communications as needed.
  • Lead efforts related to the Delivery Scorecard by working with internal teams to establish and maintain "get to green" action plans.
  • Support the RFQ process by coordinating with engineering and program management to develop and submit customer quotes.
  • Assist with hosting customer visits and meetings as needed.
  • Strive to ensure 100% customer satisfaction through effective planning, communication, and execution.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word); strong emphasis on Excel.
  • ERP system experience preferred (Syteline a plus)
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic production environment
  • Ability to anticipate potential issues and take proactive steps to minimize disruption.
  • Sound judgment in determining which issues can be handled independently and which require timely escalation.

Required Experience:

  • 1- 2 years of experience in planning, preferably in the aerospace industry.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with aerospace sheet metal products.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing materials planning and scheduling.
  • Familiarity with purchasing processes and handling discrepancies in Purchase Order inputs.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.

Level of Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, or related field

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $68,700.00 to $71,000.00 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)). To be qualified to work in this facility, a successful applicant must be a U.S. Person, as defined in those regulations, and able to supply evidence of that qualification prior to starting work or be authorized to receive controlled information under a specific license or permission from the relevant government agency.
