Shift: Monday-Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

Job Duties


  • Responsible for day-to-day operations and direction in the Quality department.
  • Manage department employees, including performance, evaluations, training, development, mentoring, work assignments, problem resolutions, hiring, and terminations in accordance with HR policies.
  • Support the Plant Manager in the continual improvement of processes.
  • Provide regular communication to the Quality Manager.
  • Work with Production leadership to ensure that Production priorities are understood and met so that the quality of the product is not compromised.
  • Partner with Engineering and Operations to define critical/control specifications and conduct part measurement to ensure compliance with tolerances.
  • Lead development and initiation of standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation of internally produced parts and assemblies.
  • Support corporate-level projects identified by the Quality Manager.
  • Manage/Perform First Piece Inspections.
  • Provide quality metrics, as requested.
  • Oversee the functioning and maintenance of departmental equipment, measurement instruments, and infrastructure to ensure product and process quality is achieved.
  • Communicate and demonstrate company policies and values to others in the organization.
  • Ensure cross-departmental communication is accurate and effective.
  • Other ad hoc duties, as assigned, are accurate and effective.

Minimum Job Requirements


  • Physical- Generally sedentary work. Some light lifting may be involved. Proficient in the use of a PC keyboard with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Working Hours- full-time employment
  • Personal Traits- Excellent communication skills with positive teamwork and a safety attitude. Conscientious attention to detail and accuracy, while able to multitask and troubleshoot. Must be "quality-minded."
  • Displays good leadership qualities. Be a role model for the department and set the standard of productivity, safety, and quality for employees of different levels to follow. Has a desire to mentor and develop employees.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Knowledge of quality control, quality assurance, and management systems (e.g., ISO 9000).
  • Disciplined problem-solving skills to assist in root cause analysis.
  • Proficient in the fundamentals of quality. E.g., PFMEA, MSA, APQP, FAI, SPC, Cp/CPK, Gage R&R, GD&T.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to motivate teams to obtain high performance levels to accomplish goals.
  • Knowledge of basic measurement equipment. e.g., calipers, micrometers, scales.
  • Advanced computer and writing skills. Skilled in the use of Word and Excel.
  • Ability to read, understand, and explain schematics, blueprints, and/or technical manuals.
  • Effective communication skills.

Education and Experience


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Science, or another related field.
  • Five Years' quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Three years' supervisory or team lead experience
