Vice President of Sales, Komatsu East

Job Overview

The Vice President of Sales will work in collaboration with senior leadership to develop and drive the short-term and long-term strategies to achieve targeted goals in the heavy construction equipment marketplace. This position provides strategic leadership to grow, develop and drive profitable sales and rental revenue for the company. The VP of Sales shall have strong leadership skills and in-depth knowledge of the heavy equipment construction and mining market, competitive landscape, and industry trends.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • The VP Sales is responsible for planning, directing and controlling the regional sales and growth strategy for the Komatsu East territory. This includes heavy construction equipment, mining in addition to allied products.
  • Customer focused and concentrated on development and implementation of selling and aftermarket strategies for all equipment and services within the territory.
  • Responsible for the business results of the territory and is accountable for the success of the long-term business viability of the territory.
  • Full responsibility and accountability for the sales budget, forecasting and execution of the business plan for the region.
  • Utilize our Komatsu Customer Relations Management system for proper tracking of sales interactions and tracking opportunities/cases.
  • Participate in industry associations meeting and trade shows.
  • Work with accounting to resolve past due or disputed account receivables.
  • Position Ready in succession planning to advance and lead the dealership.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Management, Marketing, or equivalent education / experience required.
  • Working knowledge of construction equipment dealership business model.
  • Ten years' experience managing a retail capital equipment sales organization or related heavy industry.
  • Strong analytical skills: Ability to read and analyze dealer financial statements and related reports to make data and fact-based decisions and recommendations.
  • Effective communicator: successful candidate must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present in small or large groups.
  • Knowledge of dealer business systems, CRM, on-line quoting tools, Internet based software and market data systems (Dodge, Rouse, EDA).
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
