Position Summary

Responsibilities

• You will review medical record information on both a retrospective and prospective basis to identify, assess, monitor and document claims and encounter coding information
• You will perform code abstraction and/or coding quality audits of medical records to ensure codes are accurately assigned and supported by clinical documentation to ensure adherence with guidelines on revenue, reimbursement, and educational opportunities
• You will audit adequacy of documentation and query providers to obtain additional medical record documentation or ensure accurate and appropriate coding
• You will comply with all aspects of Coding, abides by all ethical standards, and adhere to coding guidelines

Requirements

• High school Diploma or equivalent required
• BS/BA preferred
• Must possess and maintain RHIT, AAPC or AHIMA certification Certified Coding Specialist (CCS- P), CCS, CRC or CPCCertified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) preferred
• Minimum two (2) years of experienced in healthcare reimbursement or revenue cycle related position or five years of overall experience in healthcare
