We are currently seeking a Producing Mortgage Sales Manager that will provide management oversight related to the recruitment, training, and on-going sales management of high-volume Residential Mortgage Lenders with personal production expectations of $8mm annually. Direct the sales team efforts to drive market share growth, obtain maximum productivity results and high customer satisfaction. Actively manage, coach and develop the staff to drive positive origination and profitability results. Help to design and implement a business development strategy that is consistent with the ONB mission, policies and regulatory guidelines.

This position is salary based with a monthly commission override.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

    Minimum of 5 to 7 years of Residential mortgage experience; with proven track record of success; previous sales management experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with talent for recruiting and developing external mortgage loan originators to achieve sustainable results.
  • Expert knowledge in all areas of loan policy, sales practices, procedures and terminology
  • Expert knowledge of secondary market guidelines, including FNMA, FHLMC, FHA/VA, USDA and ONB Portfolio products
  • Ability to deal tactfully with customers, sales and operations staff and external referral sources and clients - creating and maintaining positive interpersonal relations in day-to-day contact and problem resolution.
  • Position may require the need to travel.
  • Subject to SAFE Ace requirements.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Build a team of high-volume originators to cover assigned market area and achieve targeted results.
  • Manage production goals and overall profitability through coaching and feedback
  • Strategize with business partners to grow and improve loan volumes and service levels
  • Develop and maintain referral relationships and partnerships to meet personal production expectations.
  • Ensure sales management and process discipline.
  • Enhance the customer experience

Activities

  • Monthly business plan review/accountability for each Originator
  • Pipeline management of lending team - applications, pre-qualification conversions, closings, pull-through ratio, compliance errors, underage's and tolerance cures.
  • Sales call planning and follow-through with each sales team
  • Pro-actively search for new business opportunities, and cultivate relationships with current and potential real estate partners and builder partners with on-going relationship management - includes joint sales calls/presentations with originators
  • Maintaining accountability/profitability of sales staff
  • Organize and lead weekly sales meetings - keeping sales activities in line with overall strategy and objectives
  • Provide consistent training with coaching and feedback

Expectations

  • Attain monthly loan volume and profitability goals
  • Monthly sales training (tips, best practices, expectations); with focus on external referral development
  • Quarterly review of new business opportunities and relationships
  • Strategize with Operations staff to assess and improve efficiency of loan process
  • Integrity/accountability - identify the right course of action and choose it without exception when making decisions
