Trucking Operations Supervisor

Operations Supervisor - Waste Management & Logistics - Waste Connections - Clarksville, TN

Waste Connections is looking for a safety-focused Operations Supervisor to join our team in Clarksville, Tennessee. This leadership role is ideal for someone with a strong background in transportation, logistics, or fleet management who is ready to advance in a growing, recession-resistant industry.

You will be responsible for hiring, training, and managing a team of commercial waste truck drivers, ensuring both safety and operational efficiency. This is a development role with built-in mentoring to prepare you for future leadership opportunities within Waste Connections.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily operations for solid waste collection crews

• Assign routes and adjust staffing for efficient route management

• Conduct and lead safety audits, meetings, and compliance reviews

• Oversee Dispatch Department and ensure effective scheduling and communication

• Perform regular field inspections to monitor performance and safety

• Maintain accurate employee records and training documentation

• Respond to and resolve customer service issues related to waste pickup

• Issue and manage progressive disciplinary actions as needed

• Complete quarterly performance evaluations for drivers

• Participate in ongoing training and career development

• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2+ years of supervisory experience, ideally in waste management, transportation, or logistics

• CDL (Commercial Driver's License) or willingness to obtain one

• Prior experience in dispatch operations or route supervision preferred

• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills

• Bachelor's degree preferred
