Client: Hospitality/Property Management Firm Role: Staff Accountant Salary: $75,000 - $85,000/annually + Benefits Location: Downtown Manhattan, New York - (4 days a week onsite - 1 day a week WFH) Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to support our finance department in daily accounting operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and have hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365. This role will involve various accounting tasks, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, financial reporting, and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes. The successful candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication and organizational skills. Responsibilities: General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Prepare and post journal entries. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data. Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process and verify invoices and payments. Manage vendor relationships. Monitor and reconcile accounts receivable. Handle customer inquiries related to billing. Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Analyze financial data and provide insightful reports. Prepare variance analyses. Month-End/Year-End Close: Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes. Prepare reconciliations and schedules. Assist with audits. Property Management Specific Duties Track and reconcile property related expenses. Assist in the preparation of property related financial reporting. Hospitality Specific Duties Reconcile daily sales and cash receipts. Track and analyze food and beverage costs. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in the Hospitality or Property Management industry. Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365 is required. Strong understanding of GAAP. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
